Object Details
- Notes
- Babassu wristband with imbe mosaic. Upright red feathers attached in a circle around the band. Pendant of 3 strands of wrinkled, black seeds, red seed and red feathered tufts. Note: One strand broken. Black seeds, red seed and feathers detached. Dr. Newton says this was obtained from and made by Hu?kro, a 14 y/o male. Unused. Sold as a single. This object can be worn by either man or woman, but for men it is an upper arm band whereas women wear it around the wrist. Here it would be a wrist band because of it's small size. Called he?techi. The band is babassu and imbe mosaic weave. There are small brown/black wrinkled seeds and small red/black ormosia seeds and macaw feathers. The binding and bead cord is 2z tucum/caroa, sewn with white commercial thread? Price paid: 5 crs. See also armbands field number 1975-107 by the same maker.
