- Mounted Baleen and Sperm Whale Skeletons - Compiled by T.W. French - Last updated 2012: The Whale Museum, San Juan Island, Washington – The skeleton of a 28 (or 26) foot juvenile that washed ashore on Orcas Island, Washington in July 1995 is the centerpiece of the Gray Whale Project which is an interdisciplinary curriculum for middle school students. The skeleton travels to schools, fairs, conferences, workshops, and other events where students lay the skeleton out on the floor in its proper order.
