F. J. Morgan Bald Knob, Arkansas Owney tag
Object Details
- Description
- Owney received this identification token from F.J. Morgan of Bald Knob, Arkansas. The tag is dated 1888, which is the year that Owney was first associated with the Albany post office. It is likely that Mr. Morgan already owned this tag with the date on it and gave it to Owney when the dog began traveling into some southern states. Morgan was a railway office telegrapher who worked along the Missouri Pacific Railway line.
