- From time to time Owney received practical gifts for his collar – dog tags. This one, Council Bluffs, Iowa shows that someone has covered Owney’s dog tax in 1893, permitting the pooch to wander the city without fear of arrest. There is no additional information to indicate who gave this tag to Owney.
