- Haverhill, Massachusetts Owney tag
Haverhill, Massachusetts Owney tag
Object Details
- Description
- Owney received this identification token from William J. Howe, a clerk in the Haverhill, Massachusetts post office. There is no additional information to indicate when Howe presented the tag to the dog. It may have been when Owney was in Haverhill on June 16, 1894, where he received an additional tag with that date from a separate individual. The city of Haverhill was served by at least two railway lines that could have delivered Owney into the town.
