Mitchell, South Dakota Owney tag
- Owney received this dog license tag during a visit to Mitchell, South Dakota. The tag shows that someone has covered Owney’s dog tax, giving him legal permission to be on the city streets, at least during the year of 1890. The tag was manufactured by S.D. Childs & Company, a Chicago, Illinois stationery and engraving firm.
