- Souvenir postcard carried by the airship ZR3 (also known as LZ126) on its flight from Friedrichshafen to Lakehurst, October 12-15, 1924, for delivery to the United States Navy as war reparations. George H. Jaeger of Latvia prepared the commemorative cachet depicting the airship, New York skyline, and the Statue of Liberty.
- The card bears the required 50 pfennig postage for postcards carried on this flight. Two 20 pfennig stamps (Scott 326) and one 10 pfennig stamp (Scott 332) are tied by two Friedrichshafen Luftpost (airmail) postmarks dated September 15, 1925. The front of the card also bears the same postmark with an October 10, 1924, date as well as the oval onboard postmark “Mit Luftschiff Z.R.3 befördert” ("Carried on airship Z.R.3") in violet. The reverse side bears a special rectangular cachet in red describing the flight of the ZR3 as well as a New York City receiver postmark dated October 15, 1924, 6:30 p.m. Two additional Brooklyn receiver postmarks (October 15 and October 16) record the postcard's arrival at its final destination, Brooklyn, New York. Based at Lakehurst, New Jersey, the navy later christened the zeppelin 'Los Angeles'.
