Graf Zeppelin Orient Flight cover
Object Details
- Description
- This cover was flown by the LZ127 Graf Zeppelin on the Orient flight and dropped over Er Ramle. The red flight cachet, made from a rubber stamping device, depicts the zeppelin over the pyramids.
- The printed cachet and the label on the reverse, both of which show a zeppelin dropping mail over New York City, are from A. C. Roessler, a stamp dealer who specialized in airmail flights and non-flown souvenir items.
