- The White House, Washington, D.C.
- This stamp was the third in a series of four issued to commemorate the man who had led the nation through three terms as President beginning March 4, 1933.
- The presidential residence, The White House, pictured behind Roosevelt was the site of his famous "fireside chats" -- radio broadcasts to the nation. As 32nd President of the United States, his terms spanned the Great Depression and World War II. Thirty-two years before Franklin Roosevelt's presidency began, his 5th cousin and Eleanor Roosevelt's uncle, Theodore Roosevelt, had served as the 26th President.
