- Description
- This Fort Kearny Issue stamp commemorates the centennial of the founding of Fort Kearny, Nebraska. This United States Army supply outpost was located on the Oregon Trail. Many pioneers frequented the fort during their travel westward. The stamp depicts Fort Kearny, as well as a pioneer group traveling by covered wagon. Fort Kearny also served as a home station for the Pony Express.
