- This Kansas City, Missouri Centenary Issue stamp features an image of the Kansas City skyline in 1950 and Westport Landing in 1850. The stamp celebrates the centennial of the incorporation of Kansas City (or the Town of Kansas) by the state of Missouri. The city was an expansion of Westport Landing, a popular supply stop for westward travelers.
