- This Liberty Issue stamp depicts Woodrow Wilson, the twenty-eighth President of the United States. He was born in Staunton, Virginia. Following an academic career of teaching positions, Wilson served as President of Princeton University. After serving as Governor of New Jersey, he went on to win the election of 1912 to become President of the United States. Wilson served two terms in office, the latter of which dealt with the United States’ entrance into the First World War and the subsequent signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
