- Description
- This Alexander Hamilton Issue stamp features a portrait of Alexander Hamilton and an image of Federal Hall in New York City. Federal Hall was first capitol building of the United States of America under the Constitution, and was the site of George Washington's inauguration as the first President of the United States. Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, was born on the island of Nevis. During the American Revolutionary War, he acted as George Washington’s chief of staff. Following his service in the war, he also served as a representative to the Congress of the Confederation, as well as the last session of the Continental Congress.
