- This International Naval Review Issue stamp was issued to commemorate the International Naval Review of 1957 and the Jamestown Festival. A naval review is an event where ships are paraded to be reviewed by the President of the United States or the Secretary of the Navy. This review, presided over by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, features international, as well as domestic, vessels. It occurred during the 350th anniversary of the establishment of the Jamestown Colony. The stamp features an aircraft carrier, as well as the Jamestown Festival emblem.
