- This Churchill Memorial Issue stamp features a portrait of Sir Winston Churchill. Born in England in 1874, Churchill was a soldier and statesman. After completing military schooling, he served as an army officer in various British territories. Churchill served in numerous political and cabinet positions. He was a member of Parliament for sixty years and served two terms as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He was an influential leader during the Second World War.
