- Description
- The 15-cent John Steinbeck (1902-1968) stamp became available on February 27, 1979. A novelist and journalist, Steinbeck won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962. He is best known for his novel The Grapes of Wrath, which tells the story of an Oklahoma family's escape from drought and eviction to fertile but hostile California.
