Letter
Object Details
- Description
- The engraving firm reports that the signing of the stamp contract was delayed by the absence of Mr. [George W.] Hatch, but he has returned, and the contract is enclosed with this letter. They regret that the language proposed by them [not otherwise described] was not included in the written agreement, but that they are not disposed to be difficult about it. They ask that a counterpart, signed by the postmaster general, be sent to them.
- Finally, they look forward to receipt of the first order for printing the stamps.
- Both copies of this contract have been lost.
