- Description
- The Postal Service honored Padre Felix Varela with the issuance of a 32-cent commemorative stamp on September 15, 1997, in Miami, Florida.
- The stamp features a portrait of a great humanitarian, Padre Felix Varela (1788-1853), who spent his life supporting human rights and giving aid to the sick and poor.
- Designed by Carl Herrman of Laguna Niguel, California, and illustrated by Keith Birdsong of Muskogee, Oklahoma, the stamps were printed in panes of twenty by Ashton-Potter (USA), Ltd., in the offset process,
