- Description
- The traditional and contemporary Christmas stamps were issued on October 30, 1985. The contemporary stamp was issued in Nazareth, Michigan, near Kalamazoo. The stamp, designed by James Dean, features the traditional Christmas gift plant, the poinsettia.
- The traditional Christmas stamp was issued in Detroit, Michigan. The stamp depicts "The Genoa Madonna," an enameled terra-cotta sculpture by Luca della Robbia, one of the most popular sculptors of the early Italian Renaissance.
