- Description
- The Postal Service issued a 34-cent Diabetes Awareness commemorative stamp on March 16, 2001, in Boston, Massachusetts. The stamp, designed by Richard Sheaff of Scottsdale, Arizona, and illustrated by James Steinberg of Amherst, Massachusetts, went on sale nationwide March 16, 2001. The Postal Service continued a tradition of raising public awareness of health and social issues with this stamp.
- Ashton-Potter (USA), Ltd., printed 100 million stamps in the offset process with microprinting "USPS."
