- Description
- This is a patriotic stamped envelope canceled Hempstead, N.Y. with the boxed killer Mailer's Postmark Permit 001. The cover is addressed to Berwyn, Illinois.
- The unfurled American flag illustrating the cachet is surrounded by the message: Remember Pearl Harbor. Remember Japanese Atrocities. Back the Attack. Beneath the flag is the familiar label (Old Glory) and a recitation of the national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner.
- P. L. & R. 562 is printed on the U.S. postal stationery (Scott U420, U421 or U422); cachet maker is unknown.
