- Description
- The Postal Service issued a 39-cent 2006 Olympic Winter Games commemorative stamp on January 11, 2006, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Derry Noyes of Washington, DC designed the stamp.
- With this stamp featuring an illustration of a downhill skier, the Postal Service continued its tradition of honoring the spirit of athleticism and international unity inspired by the Olympic Games. The stamp was issued to coincide with the 20th Olympic Winter Games held February 10-26, 2006, in Torino, Italy.
- The 2006 Olympic Winter Games stamp was issued in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of twenty. The Banknote Corporation of America, Inc., and Sennett Security Products printed 60 million stamps, in the offset process with microprinting "USPS."
