- This orchid hybrid is named for Dame Karen Elizabeth Pierce who served both as the first female representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations, and as the first female ambassador of the UK to the United States. This orchid is a beautiful example of an × Cattlianthe, with large flowers that have a slight blue flush when in bloom.
