Standing Female Nude
Object Details
- Luce Center Label
- Concetta Scaravaglione carved directly into wood and stone, without using a clay model. She was inspired by the nude female form, and created many sculptures of women that expressed strength and beauty. In Standing Female Nude the pale limestone and smooth texture emphasize the simplified curves of the woman. The figure appears hesitant and thoughtful, as if she is about to engage in conversation with the viewer.
