Object Details
- Notes
- Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 28
- This is one of Leutze's minor compositions. The coloring is fine, and the management of the lights and shades very effective. The many-wived monarch is enjoying, in privacy, the society of his loving Anne Boleyn, whose ill-starred life was to end upon the scaffold by order of her Royal husband. Both faces are portraits. [P. 18.]
