- "size 26 inches by 18 inches. This well known picture is valuable on account of its historical and local interest. It was painted at the close of the last war with England, when politics ran high. It represents the old Philadelphia state house and the excitement of a crowd of voters upon election day. Many of the figures are portraits of prominent citizens of the time; among them on the right hand, Hamilton the celebrated schoolmaster, Barker the Mayor, Dickey Folwell, Mr. Robertjot Stephen Girard's clerk, &c. &c. &c."
