Summary: This accession consists of records that document the symposia, forums, conferences, and other events sponsored by the Directorate of International Activities, which later became the Office of International Relations. Most of the events occurred from 1985 to 1987. The files contain lists of participants, correspondence between participants, abstracts of papers presented, speech texts, publicity materials, memoranda and forms concerning event planning, and read files. Especially well documented are the "Symposium of American and Soviet Archaeologists" in May 1986, the "Research Access Conference" of November 1985, and the "National Forum on BioDiversity" in September 1986.
