Portrait of Mrs. Ralph Earl seated with her body turned slightly to the right, her head cocked to the right, and her gaze directed at the viewer. In her lap she holds a partially scrolled map, and behind her there is a world globe on a stand. She wears a dress with a ruffled lace neckline, and around her shoulders she wears a black shaw.
