Summary
Two bas-relief panels, each with three portrait bust medallions of noted Italians, on either side of a stone wall. On the left panel, in proper right profile are, from left to right: Giotto, with a head covering; Michelangelo, with beard and moustache; Petrarca, with a head covering and crowned with a laurel. On the right panel, in proper left profile are, from left to right: Verdi, with a beard and moustache; Da Vinci, with a full beard and moustache, wearing a cap; Marconi, with a collar and tie. The panels flank a central concave niche with lion's head fountain.
