The markers commemorate soldiers who died in the following: Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, and Desert Storm. Each black granite marker is lit by a recessed spotlight in the foundation before it. There is a white VFW marker in the center of the plaza flanked by three flagpoles, with four benches on the plaza's rim. A walkway leads up to the memorial, with a long, short, brick-flanked wall before it.
