- Summary
- Portrait of the artist's daughter Jane Sully Darley (1807-1877), and her son Francis Thomas Sully Darley (d. 1914), against a background depicting the seashore. Jane is seated, leaning against a wall, her right arm resting on the wall, her left hand embracing her son. Her son is standing beside her, leaning against her left side, his right hand on her lap, his left hand placed over his mothers. His right foot rests gently on a small dog seated on the ground in front of him. On the upper right is a classical marble urn.
