- William Morris Colles was an author's agent and the founder and managing director of Authors' Syndicate in London, England. The firm Heinemann's was founded by William Heinemann in London in 1890.
- Summary
- The letters deal mainly with matters relating to the publication of Oswell's book by Heinemann, details of his father's life, and requesting meetings on various subjects. Many of the letters deal with problems in illustrations by Joseph Wolf. The book was one of the first illustrated by Wolf and the letters give some insight into some of the artist's problems in drawing African animals for which he later became famous.
