- Edward Spring Knapp (September 10, 1879-April 5, 1940) was a noted collector of U.S. and Confederate postage stamps and an authority on postal history. His specialties were posted hotel covers and Confederate stamps.

- Photographs of various sizes of selected items and album pages from Knapp's philatelic collections made by Philatelic Research Liboratories, Inc. prior to the sale of the collections at auction by the Parke-Bernet Galleries, Inc., New York, May 5-10, November 3-8, 1941 and March 4-5, 1942. The sales comprised some 7,822 philatelic items. Knapp's collection of Confererate stamps was sold privately.
