SCNHRB copy is bound in a volume with an old handwritten note (formerly used as a binder's title) mounted on the front paste-down endpaper: C.S. Rafinesque zoological & botanical papers, also "The pleasures and duties of wealth."

SCNHRB copy is inscribed: 1. at the top of page 1: C. Girard; 2. on the front cover: "H. Th. Jefferson, Monticello" (a possible presentation copy inscribed by Rafinesque to Jefferson; see also QH1 .R13 1820 SCNHRB, the Cullman Library's copy of Rafinesque's Annals of nature, inscribed "Hon[ora]ble.
