Summary
"The exhibition Global(e) Resistance sets out new criteria in history of collection of the Musée national d'art moderne, Centre Pompidou, through more than a hundred works by contemporary artists - all acquired over the last decade - primarily from the "Global South" (Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America). The exhibition examines the aesthetic and ethical strategies of resistance implemented by these artists. From political struggles to postconlonial issues, including thoses linked to the environment or gender-related, they respond to the urgency of the present moment while also proposing new alternatives."--Publisher's description
