Lond, 1827. Authorship is variously attrib. to John Legg (or Legge) of Market Lavington, Geo. Edwards the famous naturalist, Geo. Edwards "of Market Lavington," & (in MS on a copy of 2d ed. [1780] in this library) "Mr. White." M&S suggests the author borrowed part of his title & descript. of woodcock from An essay towards the probable solution of the question whence came the stork and the turtle...1703 (which M&S attrib. to Roberts, Hon. Francis, pNUC to Morton, Charles, 1627-1698)
