Probable year of publication from end of dedicatory letter on page 6 ("li 30. Aprile 1687").
Illustrated with engravings by A. van Westerhout, mostly after drawings by G.B. Lenardi.
Pages 87 and 88 are both printed on separate leaves, with blank versos.
CHMRB copy 39088009749383 has plates misbound in the following order: 1-8, [9], 10, 12, 11, 13-15. Also, page 88 is misbound after page 90.
CHMRB copy has provenance note on verso of title page: Gift of Prof. C.E. Norton of Cambridge; Miss Ware (exchange), Feb. 1891, [accession no.?]: 29,923; with stamps: Harvard College Library; duplicate, sold, Harvard College Library.
CHMRB copy has bookplates: 1. (laid in) Cambridge Public Library, presented by Miss Ware (exchange), Feb. 1891; 2. Smithsonian Institution Libraries. Gift of Richard Wunder.
CHMRB copy has a small engraved portrait of "The Right Hon[oura]ble Roger Earle of Castlemayne, Baron of Limbrick, etc.", from an unidentified source, laid in.
CHMRB copy has old blind-tooled full vellum binding with raised bands and red endpapers, re-backed; housed in a later slipcase of red marbled paperboard with blue cloth spine and gilt-lettered spine label.
CHMRB preservation buckram enclosures supported by the Collections Care and Preservation Fund (CCPF) in 2014.
