Historical descriptions, volumes 4-6, by William Brockedon
Originally published 1842, in 2 folio volumes, with introduction by Rev. G. Croly. In 1847 combined with "Views in ancient Egypt and Nubia" (1846, introduction by W. Brockedon) and issued under general title "Views in the Holy Land, Syria, Idumea..."
Plates dated: London : Day & Son, 1855-1856
The firm of D. Appleton & Co. was at this address in 1855 and remained there until 1860
The plates are accompanied by unnumbered leaves of letterpress description, and blank tissue guard-sheets
Volumes 1 and 6 each have a frontispiece portrait of Roberts
