- Two years ago, the Event Horizon Telescope released the first image of a black hole. Now scientists are releasing new data about this giant black hole in the galaxy M87. The world's most powerful telescopes are being used together to observe the black hole. NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory will continue to study the M87 black hole.
