- Description
- Inupiaq artist and teacher Holly Nordlum visited the National Museum of the American Indian to study Arctic objects and archival photographs in the museum's collections. Back home in Alaska, she used her research to create a summer camp—Camp Ki'Saani or Young Men—that encourages Native boys to explore art as a way to find themselves within their culture. Holly's work was supported by the Artist Leadership Program of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. She developed her community program with the collaboration of the Anchorage School District Club Kil' and the Anchorage Museum. An Ashlar Media Production © Smithsonian Institution
