- SLS Test Flight Around the Moon: Air and Space Live Chat
- Description
- NASA is planning an uncrewed test flight for NASA's Artemis program — which aims to return humans to the Moon. The uncrewed Artemis I mission will be the first flight of the agency's Space Launch System (SLS) super heavy-lift rocket and the first flight of the Orion Multip Purpose Crew Vehicle. This flight will send the spacecraft to orbit around the Moon. Learn about this mission, and the items that the National Air and Space Museum has sent along on this historic flight. We will be joined by NASA astronaut Stan Love, who is the Deputy Chief of the Astronaut Office's Rapid Prototying Laboratory, developing cockpit displays and controls for the Orion spacecraft. Love is also preparing to be a Capcom (spacecraft communicator) for Artemis missions.
