Career Summary
As I was growing up in Colorado, we had curb side delivery. I remember waiting to see the mailman in his jeep delivering my block. When he got to my house I was always waiting by the mailbox. I would get the mail from him. He always said something nice or funny to me. Being a 6 year old that was special to me. I thought to myself as I carried the mail into the house , "What a great job to have!". After I got out of the Marines I applied at the PO. I was hired 10 days after my 23 birthday. I got a job as a letter carrier. 35 years delivering mail, the last 20 years on a curb side route. I saw kids starting kindergarten thru graduation. Every kid or elderly patron that met me at the mailbox reminded me of how special my job was. Delivering mail and a smile. The PO provided me with a good life and lots of good memories. I want to thank Mr Bob the mailman for taking the time for letting me know what a great job it was.
