Waiting for Work
Career Summary
I came in, in the 70’s where they had finally negotiated a minimum. If they called you in that day, you had a guarantee of a minimum of 2 hours of work in a small office which was about 75 employees or less. If it had more than 75 employees, you were guaranteed 4 hours of work, which took away from where they would sit on a room on call and if you hung around long enough you might get to work some and take some money home. At least this gave you a chance to say you had some salary coming every day.
