A Dormitory with History

I wound up on a regular train from Birmingham to Memphis, and the strange thing about that now is that we were just going to be there 5 or 6 hours. So in Memphis we had what we called the dormitory, and what is was, was an old building with a few rooms and cots in the hall where we could sleep for four or five hours and it cost 2 or 3 bucks, so that’s where we would stay. After we quit running that route, this place is where the guy that killed Martin Luther King Jr., was on the same floor that we had been staying in, and the bathroom there that we had all been using, that’s where he leaned out with his rifle and shot Martin Luther King at the motel that was right next door.
