Night Train
Transportation-Related
The finesse of these trains is something else. You take a train that we’d run at night, and at night all you could see is the place you would catch these pouches, and they would be hanging up there with a kerosene lantern above it, that’s the only thing that you could recognize. But we would go through there and, like I say, it’s pitch black, and we had it down to such an art that we could tell by the sound of the tracks. In other words we would cross this crossing and we could hear a click and cross another crossing and we knew we had 8 seconds to get to the door and we would be working up to the last minute until we heard that second click and would go to the door and raise our arm and throw off and it was amazing the way we learned it.
