Struggles Have Come and Gone
Career Summary
I went in, in the early 60’s. As a part time flexible you weren’t guaranteed anything. It’d be like casual employment or part time employment. You had probationary periods and you had to be real careful. So, a lot of times we would go there and have standby time where you would just go sit down and if they needed you they’d call you in and you could ring in and they’d start paying you. Back then they could do that. You didn’t have overtime if you were part time help. A lot of those struggles have come and gone.
