Athens, Ohio Owney tag
Object Details
- Description
- Owney received this token while visiting Athens, Ohio on September 17, 1894. From Owney’s tag collection, we know that he visited Logan, Ohio the very next day (object number 0.052985.414). For that trip, Owney would have probably ridden on the Columbus, Hocking Valley & Toledo Railroad line. Athens was also serviced by the Toledo & Ohio Central and the Baltimore & Ohio Southwestern railroads and Owney could have arrived in town on either.
