Graf Zeppelin Orient Flight cover
Object Details
- Description
- This cover is one of only a few items dispatched from Austria and flown by the LZ127 Graf Zeppelin from Friedrichshafen on the Orient flight and dropped over Er Ramle. The red flight cachet of the zeppelin flying over the pyramids is the variety produced with steel cachet rather than a rubber cachet. The destination is of special interest since not much mail was addressed to Palestine.
