- Description
- Picture postcard carried by the LZ127 Graf Zeppelin on its October 23, 1929, flight to Spain and dropped over Barcelona, Spain. The card bears four German airmail stamps totaling 50 Rpg and tied by an onboard postmark dated October 23, 1929. The front has also been stamped with the "Mit Luftschiff Graf Zeppelin befördert" ("Carried by the airship Graf Zeppelin") marking in red and with a circular private cachet "Luftschiff Graf Zeppelin Spain Flight/Espana" also in red. The latter is found only on mail posted in flight. The card also bears a Barcelona October 23, 1929, postmark as well as a Paris Gare du Nord transit postmark dated October 25, 1929.
