- Description
- Picture postcard carried by LZ127 Graf Zeppelin on its flight to Spain on October 23, 1929. A 50 Reichspfennig German airmail stamp is tied by an onboard postmark dated October 23, 1929. A red rectangular confirming postmark "Mit Luftschiff Graf Zeppelin befördert" ("Carried on airship Graf Zeppelin") has also been affixed. The card bears two red markings "Per Luftschiff" ("by airship") and "Durch Luftpost" ("via airmail") as well as a blue airmail etiquette. A red cachet "Mit Luftpost befördert/Flugpostamt/Postamt 2 Mannheim" ("Sent via airmail/airmail office/post office 2 Mannheim") as well as a Mannheim airfield postmark dated October 25, 1929, have been affixed.
